Autumn Hayrides

DATE:  Fridays and Saturdays September 29 - October 21 | 5:30pm, 6:30pm, or 7:30pm

LOCATION:  Primrose Farm, 5N726 Crane Road, St. Charles

FEE:  $15 per person & Group Rates available

DETAILS:  Cruise around the fields at the height of the fall harvest on a 30-minute tractor-drawn wagon ride. Group tickets include all the fixings to make yummy s'mores over your own private fire. Individual tickets include a marshmallow roast over a shared fire. Everyone is welcome to visit all of the farm animals, too. Ages 15 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. Ages 1 and under free.

Jazz Fest

St. Charles Jazz Weekend, presented by St. Charles Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram, is a four-day event that showcases and promotes live jazz music at different St. Charles establishments. 30+ talented jazz musicians will be performing throughout the weekend including Grammy award-winning Saxophonist Frank Catalano, Julia Danielle with the Jeremy Kahn Quartet, Shout Section Big Band, and many more!

Scarecrow Fest

The 38th annual Scarecrow Weekend, presented by St. Charles Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, will be held October 6th-8th in downtown St. Charles, Illinois. 

85+ handmade scarecrows will be showcased around town for visitors to view and vote on their favorites. There will be a Family Zone with live entertainment and family fun as well as an Activity Zone with festive photo ops, Scarecrow-to-Go, and family activities. 

While visiting, make sure to treat yourself to many sales, specials, and events throughout town including the Autumn on the Fox Craft Show in Pottawatomie Park.

Autumn on the Fox Art & Craft Show

DETAILS:  Our Autumn On The Fox Art and Craft Show began in 1987. We are exclusively in Pottawatomie Park. Pottawatomie Park is a beautiful park on the east bank of the Fox River. It features large trees, a playground and a Riverboat Cruise. There is a large Victorian style pavilion with a tower and water garden. There is a variety of delicious food available and plenty of seating!

All items are handmade by the exhibiting artist. There are over 100 crafters. There is a large variety of jewelry, metal art, stained glass, photography, primitive wood, as well as whimsical folk art. Many crafters have fall décor including floral, scarecrows, iron sculpture, painted pumpkins and carved gourds. There are food products, including soup and dip mixes, a variety of chocolates, baked goods, honey products and BBQ items.

Big Truck Show

The Geneva Park District Foundation invites the community to celebrate the season at its annual Autumn Fair. This event will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road in Geneva.

Participants will enjoy many activities (listed below). Admission to this event is free, with minimal fees for some activities, food, and beverages. DETAILS:  Cheers! Our new craft beer festival is finally here! If you love sampling good beer, gather your friends and come to our outdoor craft beer festival, Pints by the Pond. Along with tasty food trucks and local musical entertainment, you'll be able to taste test unique beers from more than a dozen local breweries. Tickets will be sold for three hours of beer tastings. Sycamore Pumpkin Festival

DATE:  October 25 - 29th

LOCATION:  Downtown Sycamore near Main & State Street, Sycamore

DETAILS:  What started out as an idea by Wally Thurow in 1956 to offer something creative for the students of Sycamore has grown from a neighborhood display on his front yard into the towns biggest city-wide event, beginning on Wednesday with the Opening Ceremony and cake cutting and concluding on Sunday afternoon with a parade.

The festival has over 1000 entries in the Lions Decorated Pumpkin Display, two carnivals, many non-profit vendors, two indoor craft shows, entertainment, and various activities, and it concludes on Sunday with a 90-minute  parade.

We will have a variety of crafters and vendors set up outside close to the JCP 10am-4pm.
Live music, character meet and greet, a balloon artist, face painter, bounce house, and numerous breweries will also be out for a great time.
We will have trick or treating with the vendors from 2-4pm.

The Algonquin Rotary Club invites you to join them at the 2023 Algonquin Harvest Market! The event is FREE and will be held on Main Street in the Old Town Business District.

There will be a wide variety of vendors offering a variety of handmade & homegrown goods including farm fresh produce, baked goods, arts, crafts and more. ​There will also be food, drinks, entertainment, give-a-ways and more.

Plus a Historic Cemetery Walk by the Algonquin Historic Commission from 11am – 2pm. A Shuttle Bus will take you from the Algonquin Harvest Market to the cemetery and back.

Pumpkin Train

DATE:  October 14-15, 21-22, 10am - 6pm

LOCATION:  Illinois Railway Museum, Union

FEE: $11 - $18

DETAILS:  Enjoy a ride to our pumpkin patch aboard Halloween-themed electric interurban trains. While at the patch, ask our farm hands to help you find the perfect pumpkin, and pose for pictures in our various colorful, life size cutouts, as well as an antique farm tractor and hay wagon.

Catch the next pumpkin train back to East Union, and consider riding any of the other trains operating that day. Don't forget to visit our Schroeder Store, and take time to visit the rest of the campus. There's a lot to see! Plan your visit here.

Fall Festival at Ready Set Ride

DATE:  October 29, 12pm - 4pm

LOCATION:  Ready Set Ride Therapeutic Recreation Facility, 13056 Essington Road, Plainfield

FEE: $20 for pony rides

DETAILS:  Join us for a day full of fun!! We will have the following events going on all day:
-Pony rides! $20 for 15 minutes (Weight limit of 120 lbs applies, horse will be assigned to you based on availability, no sidewalkers will be available)

-Trick or treating in the barn with the horses (no costumes necessary)
-Petting zoo with chickens, minis, and goats
