Meet Stanley, River View’s frog mascot as a costumed character! Participate in 10 untimed, family-friendly physical and puzzle challenges placed strategically throughout the Pottawatomie Park. Those who complete at least seven challenges will be awarded a goodie bag with treats, two 18-hole rounds minigolf and two complimentary guest passes to Swanson Pool. Those who play minigolf that night will also get a free frozen treat as part of the Putt-n-Save Family Night special.

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

FEATURES: Our annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at the Geneva Train Station. The parade will travel north on Third Street through the center of town, ending at the Wheeler Park WW-I Monument located at 400 Wheeler Drive by the Township Senior Center. Parade units will assemble at 9:30am and the parade start time is 10:00am. Following the parade, there will be a gathering in the Wheeler Park War Memorial at 10:20am at which time the Memorial service will commence. The service typically concludes between 11:15am-11:30am.

FEATURES: Like usual, the almighty strawberry is the star attraction at Strawberry Fest. Some of the area’s most popular restaurants, chefs, and vendors will pop-up shop to serve unique strawberry-centric cuisine. Featured items usually include things like strawberry BBQ sauces, deep fried strawberries on a stick, chocolate strawberry popcorn, strawberry kabobs, strawberry jams, strawberry fudge, funnel cakes with strawberries, strawberry smoothies, strawberry blintz, strawberry banana Nutella crepes, chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry donuts, strawberry shakes, strawberry ice cream, chocolate strawberry sundaes, and much more. A wide variety of non-strawberry-centric vendors will also be on-hand also dishing out other summertime delights. For those who like to mix it up, Strawberry Fest includes live music and family entertainment. Non-stop tunes, from solo acts to touring bands, on multiple stages will ensure there’s never a dull moment for teens and grown-ups, while complimentary children’s games and activities will capture the kids’ attention just the same. As in year’s past, a classic carnival with everyone’s favorite rides will thrill the young and young at heart.

New this year, we are bringing a yarn & folk event, a fiber arts event including live music, to the Boathouse at the same time as the show. We think live music will complement the fine art and our local yarn store has great ideas for classes and demonstrations inside and around the Boathouse. FEATURES: The City of Elgin is excited to celebrate the Fourth of July with a parade, concert and fireworks, all occuring on Monday, July 4th, 2022. This year's theme is "There is No Place Like Home". The parade will kick off at 9a.m. on Slade and Douglas street, and end in front of Elgin City Hall. It will feature various forms of entertainment to enjoy. Food trucks suited for various tastes will be parked on Grove street (adjacent to Festival Park) starting at 4:00 PM. The concert will occur at Festival Park (132 S Grove Ave, Elgin, IL 60120) and begin at 7PM. Viewers will enjoy musical entertainment provided by The Modern Day Romeos. This all-day event will end with a vibrant fireworks show beginning at approximately 9:20 PM.
