DETAILS:  Hey Dad, it is that time of year again. Time to treat your lucky girl(s) to a night out filled with excitement and fun. Crafts, pictures, DJ, and a lot more! Dad, bust out the tie and bring your princess(es) out for a great night. There will be snacks and drinks to keep that energy going all night. Photos will be taken and printed on-site, so come get your groove on with South Elgin Parks and Recreation.

DETAILS:  New this year, a movie will be held indoors at the ARC during the winter! Movie goers are encouraged to wear their PJs! There will be popcorn and gold chocolate tickets to enjoy! Conductor hats will be given out before the movie and bracelets will be handed out at the end of the movie. This is a family event. No chairs, please bring blankets. Bagpipes & Bonfire on the Winter Solstice

North Pole Adventure

West Chicago

Your journey to the North Pole is about to begin!

December 9th & 10th, riders will enjoy a journey to the “North Pole” aboard West Chicago’s own holiday train to pick up Santa. The ride will be filled with music, stories, snacks and surprises! Make sure you’re on the nice list, as Santa will jump on board to check his list twice and give each child a special gift.

 

Participants will meet at the West Chicago Train Station 508 W. Main Street in West Chicago. A parent or guardian must accompany children. Fee is per person. Every adult and child needs to be pre-registered for this event; space is limited.

January Jamboree: A Winter Break Celebration

Come down to downtown St. Charles and see the beautifully decorated floats in the Electric Christmas Parade. The parade steps off on Main Street and concludes at 4th Avenue. There will also be live bands, and a special guest, Santa Claus! The three categories for this year's parade are: business, non-profit, and children.

An Almost Winter Day

South Elgin

LOCATION:  Seba Park, South Elgin

DETAILS:  Join South Elgin Parks and Recreation for theAn Almost Winter Day at South Elgin's SEBA Park, 151 Water Street, Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 2-5pm. Make s'mores, decorate cookies, enjoy craft projects, get a balloon animal, drop-off a letter to Santa (and get a reply from the North Pole). The afternoon includes snowball slingshot, an ice sculptor, bonfire, a tree decorating contest and concessions available for purchase. Plus...Santa arrives at 2pm and will stay until 4:45 for pictures (bring your camera). At 5pm, the event shifts to Panton Mill Park across the street for the Village Tree lighting. *note: concessions available at affordable prices.

Hot Cider Stroll

Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt

29th Annual Grahams Candy Cane Pull & Parade

Geneva

LOCATION:  Graham's Fine Chocolates, 302 S. Third Street, Geneva

DETAILS:  

Graham's Fine Chocolates, celebrates Geneva Chamber's Annual Christmas Walk with their old-fashioned Candy Cane Pull. A holiday tradition, watch as Graham's candy makers bring to life the age-old custom of pulling peppermint confection into hundreds of colorful Yuletide candy canes. Graham's will be giving away all the candy canes to their valued customers for free as a token of appreciation for 30+ years of support for our Family run business.

At about 5:45pm, march with Graham's employees, customers, and friends dressed in full regalia. With Herald trumpets, giant nutcrackers, 60-70 sleigh bell ringers, the Geneva High School Drumline, & the Geneva High School Colorguard, the First Candy Cane of the Season Parade will commence, presenting the Graham's Fine Chocolates first candy cane to Mayor Burns on the Third Street stage in front of the courthouse. Participants will parade from 318 S. Third St. to the reviewing stand to start the Annual Candy Cane Ceremony

Winterfest 2024

Lake Geneva, WI

VISIT Lake Geneva and the City of Lake Geneva are proud to present the 29th Annual Winterfest, featuring the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Championship January 31 - February 4, 2024. As the only national snow sculpting championship in the United States, Winterfest welcomes the most talented and award-winning sculpting teams from across the country. Be here to witness 15 state-champion teams at work during an epic 3-day competition where their artistry is put to the test in creating remarkable, larger-than-life snow sculptures. The snow sculpting competition begins at 11am Wednesday and continues through 1pm Saturday at Riviera Plaza and Flat Iron Park along the beautiful shore of Geneva Lake. It's FREE to attend and view, and sculptures will remain on display through Sunday (and until they melt).

Also enjoy an array of more wintery fun throughout the Lake Geneva region during Winterfest. Don't miss the Downtown Ice Sculpture Walk, bonfires on the beach, live entertainment and much more for the whole family.
